A Musing

At the Little Apiary we believe the most important skills of beekeeping are intangible. As Frank C. Pellet wrote more than 75 years ago,

“We find that the [small-scale] beekeeper lives in an atmosphere of peace and quiet that compensates for lack of many material possessions. Perhaps he may yet be able to lead his fellows to a larger appreciation of the real values of life. We may yet realize the ideal of a society where every individual will find the fullest opportunity for self expression with rewards for his labor which are ample for all his needs, and a position which will guarantee equal security to the weak and the strong.”
